Vienna Airport – Immersive 3D Videowall
For the grand reopening of Gebr. Heinemann’s redesigned duty-free store at Vienna Airport, we developed a stunning video experience, creatively showcasing the massive 145 m² LED wall. Immersive 3D animations, inspired by Vienna’s architecture and premium brand aesthetics, captivate travelers and invite them to pause and explore. At the same time, the LED wall provides Gebr. Heinemann’s customers with an exclusive and striking advertising space to showcase their products.
A Visual Experience for International Travelers
Gebr. Heinemann aimed to create an immersive brand world within the redesigned duty-free area—one that invites visitors to linger while perfectly highlighting high-end products. The challenge was to design a video sequence that seamlessly integrates Vienna’s architectural charm with premium brand storytelling.
Viennese Architecture Meets Heinemann-Store Design with Surprising Transformations
The façade’s aesthetic draws inspiration from classic Viennese architecture, incorporating cornices, light stone textures, and a gray rooftop. However, behind this realistic house façade lies an immersive “daydream” concept: with each transformation, the facade opens up, unveiling new layers of brand presentation.
Eye-Catching & Brand-Specific Stages for Engaging Brand Stories
The Heinemann Stage is the core element of the videowall, featuring a circular design that serves as a focal point and a platform for Heinemann’s own campaigns. Another stage was specifically designed for a temporary campaign in a grunge/graffiti style, featuring distinctive textures and colors inspired by an original pop-up installation in the Heinemann-Store. The Regular Stage offers a high-quality presentation platform that can be modularly adapted to different brands and product categories — for example, by changing logos, videos, and product images.

Precise Measurements & Spatial Simulations for Flawless Execution
Since the videowall couldn’t be continuously tested on-site, we conducted thorough technical simulations beforehand. The project began with precise measurements and a Lidar scan of the space. Test sequences with grids and lighting calibrations ensured pixel-perfect accuracy on the final display. Additionally, a 3D reconstruction of the space allowed us to optimize depth effects before the final implementation.

Postproduction & CGI for Ultimate Visual Quality
To ensure the highest level of consistency and impact, postproduction was done in After Effects, focusing on color grading and adjustments. Advanced CGI rendering, realistic lighting effects, and physics-based animations created an exceptionally immersive and lifelike experience. Additionally, perspective lines were aligned with the store’s spatial architecture, seamlessly extending its aesthetic into the digital content.

Flexible Content Management
The video sequence is divided into six independent segments, allowing for smooth transitions and flexible content scheduling. Gebr. Heinemann prioritized having control over the Regular Stage content, enabling them to independently update logos, videos, and product images. The CMS operator Skala manages the videowall, integrating our modular content solutions.
A Visual Highlight & a Cross-Brand Experience
The transformation effect is the key to capturing customers’ attention, encouraging them to pause and explore the showcased brands. With theme-specific adaptations and new supplier integrations, the Heinemann-Store remains dynamic, offering a long-term immersive experience that engages and excites visitors.
